About Us

Mobile Clinic

Highlands Dominican Republic houses a Mobile Clinic. It is used to bless those in low income areas and provide much needed medical attention as well as sharing the Gospel with the patients. The Mobile Clinic was an idea brought by Doctors Dennys & Shirley Humpries who were sent by the Rawlings Foundation to develop a medical ministry in Dominican Republic. The Mobile Clinic has been operational since 2013, and has expanded from monthly trips into the community to bi-weekly trips to help those in need.

If you are interested in becoming a medical volunteer or if you have a church medical missions team and would like to connect with us, please contact via email at oficina@tierraalta.org

Meet the Camp Director

Michael Salazar has been Camp Director since 2017.  Michael is from Costa Rica, he and his wife Andrea have two children. In 2017, Michael met Herb Rawlings and wanted to be a part of what God was doing through The Rawlings Foundation. Michael is not only passionate about using sports camps and preaching to share the Gospel, but he and his team also run a Mobile Clinic Ministry out of the camp which serves those in the community with medical needs two times a week. The Tierra Alta staff has seen God use the Mobile Clinic Ministry to share the good news of Christ with many in the local communities around camp.
