About Us

Our Camp
The camps consist of two days of fun and reflection for the young campers where they participate in a program designed by the Tierra Alta Staff.
Camp Director Allen Owens shared that when the campers arrive, they love the pool, high ropes course and all the fun camp features, but often their favorite aspect of camp is just getting to roll around in grass and see the stars at night time. Being from a city with bright lights and a lot of concrete, most students aren’t used to green grass and bright stars.
Prayer Requests
- Pray for the pastors in the local churches who get to spiritually lead the campers who go home after making a decision for Christ at camp.
- Pray for campers to continue to search for God’s will in their lives. For them to get involved in their local church and become a disciple who makes disciples.
- Pray for the camp leaders and volunteers to continue to have opportunities to share the Gospel with students who are open to hearing it.

“Everything with a Purpose”
“Everything with a Purpose” is the camp motto. The staff takes everything they do extremely seriously from the way the campers are treated all the way down to how clean the bathrooms are in the dorms. “We want every young person to see that they have value in God’s eyes. And they deserve even a clean toilet. During day camps, you have less than 24 hours to welcome a kid off the bus to connect them to the Savior.”
To start each camp we ask the campers, “how much did you pay to come to camp?” Their response is always “nothing” since The Rawlings Foundation funds each campers experience at camp. We share that someone that you don’t know paid for your entrance into this camp. And there’s someone else you don’t know that paid a price for you to have an entrance into heaven and have a relationship with God, His name is Jesus Christ.
Meet the Camp Director

Robbie Reyes
Interim Camp Director
Meet the Camp Director
Robbie Reyes began his first contact with the Rawlings Foundation back in March 2021 when he visited the camps in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Robbie grew up in Mexico City where he and his family ministered for many years. Seeing the need that exists in the adolescence and youth of his country, he decided to prepare himself to be able to serve them better. After many years of service in the United States, God allowed him to return to Mexico through an international agency where he was able to help develop a training program for youth leaders.
In December of 2021 he became part of the Tierra Alta Coahuila family as their director where together with his wife and 4 daughters they serve all those who come to the camp. Robbie’s goal is that young people can experience the joy that comes from putting their faith in Christ and that their experience here is unforgettable.
Testimonial
A girl came to camp for the first time in March, she was on the high ropes course at the highest level. And came to the “Leap of Faith” where she had to jump off. Being scared of heights she froze at the top. The staff member that was working the activity at the top of the ropes course took the opportunity to tie her situation back to Scripture. He shared Romans 1:20 with her and shared the Gospel of Christ and all of our need for a Savior. While on top of the High Ropes course the girl gave her life to Christ. Now less than a year later she is back at camp with an entire bus load of new students and climbing the ropes course and sharing Christ with new campers.
