About Us

Our Camp
Greg Lyons (Executive Director) and Jay-R Rufin (International’s Camp Director) want the main focus of every camp to be the Gospel. They make sure that it is presented throughout the entire camp experience. It begins on the bus to camp, for the five-hour bus ride gives time to share Gospel centric music and written material. Once arriving to camp, the campers experience an orientation that displays the love of Jesus. The welcoming spirit of all the volunteers and leaders expressing love and compassion for each young person as they settle in dorms with Gospel verses posted throughout the area. The sessions are all filled with different media presentations of the Gospel and the need for a Savior. During the message, the Gospel is presented visually with drama, through the worship, and a Gospel message. Campers who respond to the message are met individually by trained counselors. And through this process, lives are changed! The next meal, each camper who responded to the Gospel during the previous session, is counseled again about assurance of salvation, baptism, and how to find a local church. Yes, the campers have lots of fun in the lake, on the ropes course or sliding down the massive slide but the real life change happens when the Gospel is shared.
Prayer Requests
- Pray for Greg Lyons (Executive Director) and Jay-R Rufin (International Camp Director) as they lead Highlands Philippines. Give them strength and knowledge to lead how God has called them.
- Pray for campers who have made a decision for Christ at camp to get plugged into a local church and to be fed spiritually after leaving camp.
- Pray for the camp leaders and volunteers to continue to have opportunities to share the Gospel with students who are open to hearing it.

Our History
In 2000, both Greg Lyons and Jay-R Rufin came together with The Rawlings Foundation to start the Highlands Philippines camp. Jay-R was a disciple of Greg’s and together with their team and many volunteers, they are now reaching more than 100,000 campers a year in the Philippines. Though the camp has grown exponentially over the last 20+ years, the mission of the camp has never changed, reaching students in the Philippines with the Gospel of Christ.

Meet the Camp Director
Greg has been an urban church planter in the Philippines for over 35 years. Under Greg’s leadership the Philippines camp has grown from 176 campers in 2000 to now reaching 100,000 campers each year with the Gospel of Christ. Greg met Dr. John Rawlings in the 1980’s and has been working with The Rawlings Foundation since then to impact youth around the world. Greg is passionate about making sure that every aspect of camp clearly points to the Gospel and gives each camper the opportunity to make a decision for Christ while attending camp.
Testimonial
Pep-C Macadangdang was saved at the camp in 2001. After camp she got plugged into Community Baptist Church and grew in her relationship with the Lord. Pep-C later served as a volunteer at camp for a few years, then began leading a drama team. Now, 20 years later, Pep-C is the Program Director of the Philippine camp, and having an impact on thousands of students weekly in the same ministry that she was saved.
