About Us
Our Camp
Highlands Tanzania is widely known around the country for its first class facilities. The Football (Soccer) field is often used by Tanzanian Professional teams to practice when up country. To go along with the football fields, Highlands Tanzania also offers basketball, volleyball, netball, swimming and a camp favorite “Mamba Slide”, “Mamba” is Swahili for Crocodile, the slide is built with a crocodile head and teeth over the end of the pool.

Our History
In 2005, the Baptist Bible Mission of Tanzania was connected with Herb Rawlings and began looking
for property in Tanzania for a camp facility. Bob Dodson was then tasked by the mission to run the camp. By 2007 the land had been purchased and the facilities built for Highlands Tanzania. Now, schools from all around the country bus students to Highlands Tanzania for 3 day camps all throughout the year.

Meet the Camp Director
Eugene Mwea Mosha Has been working with and for The Rawlings Foundation in Tanzania since the first camp ever held at the Highlands Camp Tanzania back in 2010. He was a Youth Leader from a local church then and he started out as a volunteer on the Media and Counselling Teams at the camps and later a team leader and also as a camp speaker.
After His Studies in 2013, Eugene moved to the camp and worked full time under the Late Dr. Bob Dodson and his wife Dee Dodson leading the Programming Department at Highlands Tanzania, overseeing thousands of Tanzanian Youth come through the camp and hear the good news of Christ. His passion has always been for the youth and especially that the lost youth of Tanzania would experience the love of Christ. He is now furthering his theology studies at Liberty University as he aims to continue equipping himself for the task of reaching more lost souls in Tanzania. Eugene lives at the camp with his wife, Anitha and their three Children, Ayden (8), Audrey (5) and Alma (3) and leads the Rawlings Ministry in Tanzania as the Director since the untimely demise of Dr. Bob in June, 2022.

Samweli D. Mwakipesile was saved at the camp in 2011. After camp he got plugged into Dodoma Bible Baptist Church and grew in his relationship with the Lord. Sam later served as a volunteer at camp for a few years, then began leading the camp drama team, then the Production team and now, Sam is the Programming Director of The Highlands Rawlings Camp, Tanzania. Sam is now married to Beverly and they have two sons, Travis, (4) and Tristan (2).
